Context

The Oxbow News Wave was created by teachers and students. The pamphlet includes class photos, drawings and various writings by students along with business sponsors. The pamphlet was "Supplement to the Enterprise-Bulletin, Friday, December 17, 1993 and the Huronia Sunday Saver (Wasaga Beach) Sunday, December 12, 1993. From documentation contained in the album: “Oxbow Park School was built in 1956, with many attending students transferring from the Wasaga Beach School. It is located on land backing onto both 39th and 40th Streets and has had several additions built since the 1960’s, including 6 classrooms, library, and enlarged gym and new administrative offices. Oxbow Park School twinned with Byrnes Avenue School from 1974-78, to enable the sharing of facilities. In 1979, the schools separated, only to be twinned again, with Oxbow Park School renamed Worsley Elementary school in 1994. The school is still thriving today with a fluctuating student population of over 500 students.”
