Context

Kin Canada is a national service Association made up of hundreds of locally operated service clubs across Canada including Kinsmen, Kinettes and Kin. Kin Canada is led by a volunteer National Board of Directors. Clubs, Zone, Districts, and National Committees also have volunteer leaders at all levels. A small paid staff team manages Canada-wide administration and support. With hundreds of clubs and thousands of members, individuals identify and address the unique needs of their local communities. In 2012, Kin Canada clubs surpassed $40 million in donations to cystic fibrosis research and care since the partnership with Cystic Fibrosis Canada began in 1964.The first Kinsmen Club was formed in the City of Hamilton, Ontario, on February 20, 1920 with Harold (Hal) A. Rogers as the Founder. The organization's mission is to promote and direct service work through fellowship, fostering personal development, and stimulating community involvement, each club with its own focus on local community needs. The Kinsmen Club of Wasaga Beach began in April, 1972 when the National Executive Council of the Association of Kinsmen Clubs approved the Bylaws of the Club. The Charter Executive included: President - Wayne Smith Treasurer - Gerry Vanderburg Secretary - Sam Score Vice Presidents - George Bowers & Ron Puccini Registrar - Cliff Garside Directors - Ray Morris, Lorne Pavelin, Charles Sandell & Hans Ommen Bulletin Editor - Bill Rae with Assistants Bill Morris & Lorne Pavelin Sergeant At Arms - Leo Silloats The Kinsmen Club of Wasaga Beach is currently inactive however, the Kinette Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2024.
