Context

About Wasaga Community Theatre - (from "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" program, 10th Anniversary pages) In the winter of 1991, Karen MacLean was approached by her friend, Greg Fowler (who was associated with Blue Mountain Foundation For the Arts), about the possibility of starting a theatre group in Wasaga Beach. With the help of The Town of Wasaga Beach and the Lion's Club among others, they organized a governing body and proceeded to stage their first play. It was a mystery/comedy entitled "Exit The Body". Since that time, the group has gone on to produce 2 to 3 plays per year, children's plays included...The purpose of the Wasaga Community Theatre is to have an outlet for the incredibly talented people in our community, while bringing exciting and much needed entertainment to Wasaga each. We'd like to thank our patrons for their continuing support.
