Vintage Wood and Rubber Printing Set in Wood Case

Context

Directions printed on the left side of the inside of the box lid reads as follows: Use good cardboard. Lay cardboard on a smooth level surface when making sign. Put a small amount of ink on pad and rub face of pads together. Tap letter lightly 4 or 5 times on pad to get ink on every part. Press firmly on cardboard but not hard enough to blur. Use sign markers ink (Writing ink or Printers ink injures rubbers) Your dealer will supply you letters to fill out the set if any are lost, also new pads and ink. To clean type, brush face of type lightly with wood alcohol. "Practice Makes Perfect" Printed on the right side of the inside of the box lid reads as follows: SUPERIOR SIGN MARKER For Printing Window and Store Signs, Sale and Price Tickets, Bills of Fare, Bulletins, Labeling, Etc. There are also various letters and symbols stamped over the above texts. The inside of the lid is lined with thick tan coloured paper with a piece of beige/yellowish paper attached to it. Printed text is mostly on the beige/yellowish paper.
