Thought to be a wooden boat oar owned by John Barrett Van Vlack and engraved with his initials, JBVV (not confirmed). Van Vlack was the first documented settler in the area, circa 1869, who founded the Van Vlack village. The oar was found under a cottage - location not documented.Acquisition
