Description

The extraordinarily delicate design a make this simple piece a veritable work of art. Although the “soof” embroidery is all double sided, an important repeated element is one sided, filling in the dramatic pyramid on which the peacocks sit. The peacocks are similar, each having pyramid shaped tail with a flourish at it’s top, and fancy flourish on its’ heads, each is slightly different, as are the medallions and designs around the borders. It consists of two pieces joined by needle weaving and displays a significant amount of lace-like needle work around each piece and at each of the four ends.
