Description

This cloth was made in India, but was found in Sulawesi, Toraja. It depicts some narrative scenes. Such cloth was probably used in India as a story telling device. In Sulawesi, this cloth would have been hung up for ceremony and most likely regarded as a type of sacred cloth (mawa).
