Child's Dragon Robe

Name/Title

Child's Dragon Robe

Entry/Object ID

2023.3.421

Description

Chinese child's robe. Manchu Chinese (horsehoof cuffs etc.), Qing Dynasty in embroidery style and cut, but not actually from that period. Five toes on the dragons originally meant it was for the emperor, but that can be copied. Looks to be in very good condition, well made, probably not very old when got it. The embroidery is definitely higher quality than what was typically made for export.
