Description

Bought in 1975 +/- from a man who sold saris in Varanasi. This was made about a hundred years prior to purchase, and has Hindu (?) script on it. The gold appears to be real sari, which is a fiber - often silk wrapped with 24 karat gold that has been through a machine repeatedly so it gets thinner and thinner until it can wrap around the fiber. For use as an offering at a shrine.
