Name/Title
Tube Skirt (Tenapi Fadang)Entry/Object ID
2024.1.21Description
In Alor, specific types of tenapi, or tube skirts, are worn by distinct patrilineal lineages. These lower garments are named based on their design format and motifs, but these names do not have particular meanings. This tenapi is composed of two panels of brownish-red, warp ikat cloths adorned with primary warp ikat bands at the skirt's top and bottom. The Tenapi Fadang tube skirt is recognizable by its green and blue stripes, which are positioned next to narrow bands of warp ikat dashes in the middle section of the skirt.Acquisition
