Description

Woman’s festival jacket in handwoven cotton, diamond twill pattern, black or over-dyed indigo, with cotton indigo-dyed lining. The sleeve panels are red silk with many embroidery techniques including couchedand bumpy couched stitch in various greens, blue, and purple. Also rows of metallic and many-colored folded fabric technique in triangle form. The embroidered panels on the sleeves and backs of these jackets can be removed and sewn onto a new jacket should the need arise. Women and girls work on these panels all year long in their spare time.
