Fish trap made from thin strips of bamboo. Base ireinforced with rattan. Basket has open weave except for the bottom 4 or 5 cm, which has a tighter weave. Top of cone is reinforced with second layer of bamboo weaving. Dark brown in colour, made by smoking. This style of basket is "toum". Fish are trapped by simply dropping the basket over them in water, not sure how fish are retrieved.Collection
