Katu basket, narrow square base and round wide top. Woven from bamboo (mai pai). 8 bamboo sticks strut up to the top rim are braid of rattan, also the rim is braid by rattan, the square base is made of four pieces of wood height 3.5 cm and width 11.1 cm attach the basket base. A strap woven from bamboo starts from base wrapped in to 3 loops. This basket is used for carrying rice grain for planting. It took 10 days to make: the village in which it was made doesn't have rattan, so the maker travelled three days to reach the old village (?) or source of bamboo. They traveled by car to Kaluem, walked about another 24 hours and spent 2 nights in the forest.Collection
