Tarieng large oval low woven table (tray) shape. "Pha Khao" in Lao, "Chamang" in Tarieng. Made of bamboo (Mai Pong), wood, and rattan. An oval piece of wood and 12 pieces of bamboo supports make up its legs. The bamboo and stick frame is attached to the rattan and bamboo weaving tabletop. Ten (10) round bamboo sticks reinforce the raised outer edge of the tabletop–five (5) form the topside and five (5) form the underside–which are attached with rattan. This raised outer edge is then lined with a rattan braid. It took 2 weeks to weave but about a year to collect and prepare all the materials.Collection
