This folder contains a page on the life of August and Louise (Bierman) Jahnke and their oldest daughter, Laura Jahnke. August and Louise married in 1895 and had seven children, Laura (Jahnke) Nelson, Elsie (Jahnke) Ponto, Linda (Jahnke) Lehman, Ida (Jahnke) Strom, Erna (Jahnke) Peterson, Emil Jahnke, and Carl Jahnke. August and Louise farmed in Caledonia Township until retiring in the 1940s, when they moved into Hillsboro.
Laura Jahnke married Joseph Nelson in 1923 and farmed near Hillsboro. They had six children, Carl Nelson, Lorraine (Nelson) Domier, Lilly (Nelson) Rieke, Arnold Nelson, Adeline (Nelson) Morton, and a son that died in infancy.
