Description

This family history folder contains a photograph of James Forrest Johnson and his wife Amelia Emma Saisbury (photos). James Forrest Johnson was born on 25 December 1864 in Michigan near Goodrich, Ontario Province, Canada, the son John and Margaret (Forrest) Johnson. James first married Lolita Irene Short, but she died. He then married Mary Jane Owens, but she also died. Then in Hillsboro, Traill County, North Dakota, on 26 October 1886, James Forrest Johnson married Amelia Emma Saisbury. Amelia was born on 23 July 1870 in Durham County, Ontario Province, Canada, to parents Thomas Henry and Elizabeth (White) Saisbury. A chart of descendants of John and Mary (Ford) Johnson includes James Forrest and Amelia (Saisbury) Johnson as No. 16 under "Generation No. 3" and his parents John and Margaret (Forrest) Johnson as No. 4 under "Generation No. 2" (see Catalogit Family History entry 2025.205.1). James Forrest and Amelia (Saisbury) Johnson's parents are buried in the Quincy cemetery. James and Emma moved from Traill County to Pendelton, Oregon, where James was a deputy sheriff. James died on 30 July 1934 in Salem, Oregon, and Amelia died on 30 September 1940 in Bozeman, MT.
