This folder contains two pages describing the life of Johanna Sundby, who was born in 1852 in Norway. In 1873, Johanna married Johannes Bergumshagen in Norway where they had three children. Johannes first came to the USA where he worked as a farm labourer to earn enough money to bring Johanna and children to the USA in 1883. They settled and farmed in Norway Township in Traill County.
Johanna and Johannes had ten children, eight girls and two boys, including Simon a 'Prairie Poet' and editor for Norwegian newspapers out of Decorah, Iowa.
Johanna (Sundby) Bergumshagen passed awy, age 67, in 1921.Acquisition
