Description

This family history folder contains photographs and documents (charts) on the descendants of Henry Koering and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Ventz, who were married on 2 February 1905 at St Paul's German Lutheran Church in Stanwood, Iowa. Henry was the eldest child of five children born to Rudolph and Dorthea (Meyer) Koering, who were originally from Hanover, Germany, but settled in Iowa in 1890. Henry and Minnie Koering had nine children from 1906 to 1926 (see chart). As shown in a collage of photos, these nine children included Mildred Koering (Mrs. Carl Hanson), Ervin (Helen) Koering, Herman (Beulah) Koering, Velma Koering (Mrs. Burnham Kleveland), Walter (Marian) Koering), Bernice (Mrs. Chris Christianson), Eloise Koering, Irene (Mrs. Pete Peters), and Robert (Marian) Koering. Henry Koering passed away on 30 July 1938 in Hillsboro, ND. Minnie lived about another 20 years, passing away on 4 November 1957 in Mayville, ND. Minnie is shown in a photo with her four sons (l-r): Walt, Robert, Ervin and Herman, and with four of her daughters (l-r): Eloise, Velma, Bernice and Irene (Mildren no in picture). A Koering family reunion was held Hillsboro, ND (see group photo).
