After Camp Claiborne, Sgt. Arneson served with the 164th Infantry in New Caledonia and other areas in the South Pacific during WWII. In August 1943, he was discharged after serving the ND Natl. Guard, Company L, for 23 years, as reported in the Hillsboro Banner on 13 August 1943. Adolph Arneson accepted a position with the defense industry in Seattle, WA, and moved his family there.
