In the Spring Term of the 1887 (23 Mar-30 Jun), Blanchard School No. 5 teacher John H. Johnson reported attendances and studies pursued for 22 students, including Anna Brekke, Edward Brekke, Gertrude Brekke, Julia Brekke, Andrew Christianson, Christian Christianson, Clara Christianson, Martin Christianson, Nellie Christianson, Anna Crogstad, Betsy Crogstad, Chrisen Crogstad, Martin Crogstad, Mathilda Ellingrud, Andrew Grondal, Hilda Grondal, John Grondal, Ole Grondal, Carl Nelson, Christina Nelson, Joseph Nelson, and John Steenhaug. Blanchard Township School No. 5 was located in NW Qtr. of Section 8 (see 1900 map, below), about 7 miles NW of the Village of Blanchard, and about 8 miles S of the City of Mayville.
