Albert and Ida (Larson) Amb farmed near Galesburg, North Dakota, from the early 1930s to 1963, when they retired to Portland, ND, as described on page 163 in the 1882-1982 Galesburg Centennial book.
Albert Amb was born on 1 September 1898 to parents Carl and Caroline (Renden) Amb, early settlers in Roseville Township in Traill County (see Catalogit entry 2024.594.1). Albert was Carl and Caroline Amb's 9th child of 13 children.
On 7 July 1933, Albert Amb married Ida Larson, who was born 2 November 1906 to parents Ole and Inga Larson of Portland, ND. As described on pages 163 and 164 in the Galesburg Centennial book, Albert and Ida Amb had one son, Clinton Amb, and four daughters, Inez (Amb) Nelson, Evelyn (Amb) Elliott, Delores (Amb) Ludwig, and Jance (Amb) Larson.
When Albert and Ida retired from farming in 1963, the Amb farm continued with son-in-law Leon Nelson, as described on page 287 in the Galesburg Centennial book.
Albert Amb lived to the age of 81, passing away on 31 March 1980 (obituary, below). Ida (Larson) Amb lived to 80, passing away on 26 November 1986 (obituary, below).Acquisition
