From 2 to 4 July 1956, together the City of Mayville, ND, celebrated its 75th Anniversary (1881-1956). For this celebration, an 8" by 11", 100-page, beige book titled: "Diamond Jubilee" was prepared by Mayville Diamond 75th Jubilee Committees, with the General Committe chaired by Walter Nelson. The Celebration included a three-day Program (see Program page, below) and a Pageant performed at Mayville State Teachers College (see Pageant page, below). This 100-page book includes a number of sections, for example, Highlights of the History of the College, City Schools, and the Hospital, and short Biographical Sketches of pioneering families.
Copies of this 100-page book are located on the "Traill County History" shelf in the Resource Room (3rd floor) of the Plummer House Museum in Hillsboro, ND.Acquisition
