In 1939, from November to December, the Hillsboro High School students published a newspaper titled "The Baby Banner". The newspaper staff included Ione Pilgren, Editor; Charles Winberg, Sports; Dorothy Henning, Business Managers; Frances Waters, Artist; and Reporters Carol Anderson, Bertha Letnes, Deneze Ludwig, Eleanor Sarles and Susann Tjornhom.
These 1939 Hillsboro High School newspapers are available for reading at the Traill County Historical Society's Plummer House in Hillsboro. They were donated to the TCHS in 2024 by Ramon Borke on behalf of her father Merlin 'Bud' Borke.Acquisition
