Erwin Bohnsack was the 8th child of 9 born to Phillip and Dorothea (Rediske) Bohnsack. Erwin was raised on the Bohnsack Farm in Section 14 in Bohnsack Township, Traill County. This farm was homesteaded by Erwin's grandparents, Johann and Maria (Heineke) Bohnsack, in 1879 (see 1907 farmstead photo). This century farm remains in the Bohnsack family.
Erwin Bohnsack married Lucille Augustin, and they had 10 children as shown in the family photo taken in December 1965. Standing at back (l-r) are Philip Bohnsack (b. 16 July 1941), Neil Bohnsack (b. 3 May 1946), Brian Bohnsack (b. 12 April 1948), David Bohnsack (b. 10 July 1950), Charlie Bohnsack (b. 1 July 1952, d. 1 February 2020), Roger Bohnsack (b. 14 May 1955), & Lynn Bohnsack (b. 14 December 1959, d. January 1966). After Erwin's wife, Lucille, died in 1959, he later remarried Theresa Stoehrs, and trained to be a lay preacher. Erwin and Theresa lived in various places as Erwin served different congregations. When Erwin was training to be a lay pastor, he turned the Bohnsack farming operations over to his son, Brian Bohnsack, who currently lives with his wife Jan on this Century farm. Brian and Jan's son, Ryan Bohnsack, currently operates the farm.Acquisition
