1902 dress and accessories from the wedding of Rebecca Halvorson to Dr. Syver Vinje. They moved to Hillsboro in October 1913 where he served as a doctor from that time until 1954. They had four sons: Olaf, Harold, Ralph and Edmund.
In 1918 Dr. Vinje and Albert L. Halvorson built the Gem Theatre and operated it for several years. Dr. Vinje was elected to the State Senate in 1934 and served one, two-year term.
In 1953 Dr. and Mrs. Vinje were honored by the Hillsboro community for forty years of service with an all day celebration which was billed as Dr. Vinje Day. Syver died in 1957 and Rebecca in 1966.
