A number of events changed the lives of Henry and Tina Rust, and their family. First, Henry and Tina’s son, Johnny Rust, had died, age 10, in 1903. Then, Henry’s father, Karsten Rust, passed away on Christmas Day of 1908, followed by Henry’s mother, Louisa, a bit over a month later on 3 February 1909. And, by 1909, Henry and Tina’s two oldest children, William and Lena Rust, had moved to Regent in western North Dakota. Thus, Henry and Tina decided to join them in Regent after farming in Bohnsack Township for almost 25 years. Henry and Tina sold their Bohnsack farm and moved to a farm located in the SE Qtr. of Section 17 in Black Butte Township in Hettinger County. Their son William Rust had homesteaded on land a half-mile west of Regent in 1907. Their daughter, Lena Rust, at the age of 19, worked as a cook in a hotel in Regent.
Christina or Tina (née Fisher) Rust died, age 69, on 6 October 1931 and was interred in the Zion German Lutheran Cemetery located 10 miles north and 2 miles west of Regent. Henry Rust died, age 92, on 25 April 1947 and was buried in the Orono Cemetery, Elk River, Sherburne County, MN.Acquisition
