Duncan Sorum, only child of Oluf & Tina Sorum Oluf A. Sorum was the son of Andreas and Berthe (Ronningen) Sorum, early settlers in Traill County near Hillsboro. Oluf was one of 11 Sorum children, many of whose descendants continue to reside in or near Hillsboro. For example, Oluf's brother, Albert A. Sorum married Annie Swenson, a daughter of Knud and Mari Swenson, great great grandparents to Kay (Ludwig) Rotvold and Jack Ludwig of Hillsboro.
