This family folder has excerpts from "Pillars of Time", A history of pioneering on the Goose River area of North Dakota from 1860 to the 1920s, on Hans Johnson, as told by his son, Henry Johnson. Hans Johnson staked a claim along the Goose River by what became Mayville in 1869. In 1871, Hans Johnson travelled with Alvin Arnold, Morris Gummer and Pete Swedberg to settle their claims on the Goose River. Hans and his wife, Andria Jenson, built a log cabin on the claim in 1871.
