From 18 to 21 June 1981, the City of Hillsboro, ND, celebrated its Centennial (1881-1981). For this celebration, a 9" by 11", 255-page, brown book titled: "The First Hundred Years" was written and compiled by contributions from the people of Hillsboro, Jean T. Kaldor, Co-ordinator (see Acknowledgements and Contributors page, below). This book was dedicated "to those men and women pioneers: the immigrant homesteaders, the frontier merchants, the itinerant preachers, the skilled artisans, the young schoolmarms, and the great entrepreneurs...to the Prairie People" (see book Dedication page, below). This 255-page book includes a number of chapters, for example, a chapter on "The Frontier Days of Hillsboro and chapters on Hillsboro churches and schools (see book Table of Contents page, below).
