In the 1887 Fall Term (2 Sep-31 Dec), Blanchard School No. 5 teacher Ema Ferris reported attendances and studies pursued for 27 students, including Annie Brekke, Edward Brekke, Jenie Brekke, Julia Brekke, Edward Brinsenson, Anna Crogstad, Betsy Crogstad, Chrisen Crogstad, Martin Crogstad, Katie Ellingrud, Matilda Ellingrud, Andrew Grondal, Hilda Grondal, John Grondal, Ole Grondal, Annie Holem, Lena Holem, Tena Holem, Carl Nelson, Christina Nelson, Joseph Nelson, Christ Olson, Christian Olson, Clara Olson, Martin Olson, Nellie Olson, and John Steenhaug. Blanchard Township School No. 5 was located in NW Qtr. of Section 8 (see 1900 map, below), about 7 miles NW of the Village of Blanchard, and about 8 miles S of the City of Mayville.
