Description

Rognstad in Wisconsin written on back. Family in front of home. This is likely the family farm home of the Anders and Goro (Olson) Rognstad, which evidently was located in Grant Township in Dunn County, Wisconsin. As shown in the family tree below, Anders Rognstad had a sister, Ingeborg Rognstad who married Ole Halvorson. In 1877, came from the Halvorson farm in Wisconsin to the Buxton area of Traill County, Dakota Territory. Ole and Ingeborg Halvorson's two children, Mathias and Stina Halvorson came with them. Mathais Halvorson became a successful merchant in Buxton, ND (see Catalogit family history entry 2025.10.1). Stina Halvorson married Ole K. Hovet of Buxton and later became a long-term resident of Hillsboro, ND (see Catalogit family history entry 2024.499.1).
