The location of Belmont School No. 1 is described in the 1886 Teacher's Register (Catalogit entry 2023.439.1).
In the Spring-Summer (March-July) term of 1888, the Belmont School No. 1 teacher was J. Grefthen. On the Register pages (shown below), attendance was recorded for the following students: Anna Thompson, Haakon Thompson, Berthie Kobbervig, Lewis Larson, Ole Arneson, Robert Leom, Gunder Larsen, Andrew Olsen, Anne Rauk, Clara Rauk and Ida Rauk. Note that the ages of students ranged from 6 to 21.
This Belmont School No. 1 Teachers Register book was donated to the TCHS by Ron Peterson and accessioned in 2008. The condition of this book was noted as being very poor, with pages 11, 23, 27, 31, 35, 41, 45 and 49 missing. Evidently, these missing pages included the attendance records for Belmont No. 1 students in 1887.Acquisition
