This folder has two copies of letters between Marian E. Sarles and the State Historical Society of North Dakota about the Sarles House, including a history of the Sarles family. The documentation included descriptions and photographs of the historic Sarles house located near the entrance to Woodland Park in Hillsboro, with hopes for its restoration as a historic house. Unfortunately, this did not happen, and the house fell into disrepair and was eventually dismantled in 1986 as described in a Hillsboro Banner article in September.
Included in the folder are historic photographs of the O.C. Sarles & Co. Lumber store (APH VI 198), the Sarles House as postcards (APH VI 239 & 240), and of Ida Sarles (APH II 153).Cataloged By
