Note

Martin and Lena Sliper were married in Norway, coming to Mayville in 1900. They settled on a farm in Norway Township in 1903. Lena was a nurse in Norway. They retired and moved to Mayville in 1938. They were members of the Norway Lutheran Church of rural Cummings, ND. They had four children. Lawrence, who managed the farm after Martin moved to Mayville; Myrtle Ross, Fargo; Olga who was a high school and Mayville State College Librarian and also in Seattle, Washington. Gudrun, the youngest, taught school in Yakima, Washington. Martin was killed in Mayville when hit by a car. Wedding certificate and small pox certificate is located on back of picture.
