A one-page account of the life of Caroline Ausen, and her husband Peter Lawrence, who came from Norway and Minnesota to homesteaded by Caledonia in 1878 and later bought a farm at the west edge of Hillsboro. They had ten children, Minnie, Emma, Ida, Albert, Olga, Axel, Edwin, Herbert, Arthur and Carl Lawrence.
