As described in a brief Torsten Jahr Family history in the 1976 book "Yesteryears in Traill, Vol. I", Torsten and Mari Jahr came to America with three children in 1873, with five older children having arrived in America earlier. Torstein and Mari, and children, eventually settled in Traill County in the late 1870s along the Goose River, northwest of what became the railway town of Hill City or Hillsboro in 1881.Acquisition
