In the 1889 Spring Term (18 Mar-29 Jun), Blanchard School No. 5 teacher Lillie Morrish reported attendances and studies pursued for 25 students, including Amelia Anderson, Christian Christenson, Clara Christenson, Martin Christenson, Nellie Christenson, Betsy Crogstad, Lizzie Crogstad, Martin Crogstad, Albert Ealemer, Katie Ellingrud, Matilda Ellingrud, Hilda Grondahl, Ole Grondahl, Andrew Hiler, Olena Hiler, Rachel Hiler, Annie Holum, Olena Holum, Bertena Iuamme, Joseph Iuamme, Carol Nelson, Christina Nelson, Joseph Nelson, Martin Nelson, and Carrie Olson. Blanchard Township School No. 5 was located in NW Qtr. of Section 8 (see 1900 map, below), about 7 miles NW of the Village of Blanchard, and about 8 miles S of the City of Mayville.
