Context

This Norwegian Bible has an inscription on the inside cover: "Rev. H. J. Hansen, Landa, ND". From Galesburg News items in the Hillsboro Banner, we know that in the 1920s, Rev. H. J. Hansen served a Lutheran Church in Kankakee, IL. Then in the late 1920s and early 1930s, he apparently served a Lutheran church by Galesburg, ND. By the mid to late 1930s, Rev. H. J. Hansen served a Lutheran Church in Landa, ND, which is located about 27 miles west of Bottineau, ND. In the 1940s, Rev. H. J. Hansen served Lutheran Churches, and lived with his family, in Cooperstown, ND, and Fargo, ND. For a time, Rev. H. J. Hansen also served the Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold, ND, located about 30 miles west of Minot, ND.
