Belmont School No. 1 was located in the NE Qtr. of Section 8 based on a 1900 plat map of Traill County (see below). In 1886 the teacher was Josephine Larson. On her Register pages (shown below), Fall term attendance records for September to December on students were recorded, along with their ages. As shown, students were: Stina Thompson, Bertina Pederson, Lena Hanson, Martin Hanson, Theodore Dokken, Embric Steenson, Andrew Pederson and Thomas Thompson.
This Belmont School No. 1 Teachers Register book was donated to the TCHS by Ron Peterson in 2008. The condition of this book was noted as being very poor, with pages 11, 23, 27, 31, 35, 41, 45 and 49 missing.Acquisition
