Det Age Teftaments (The Old Testament Bible) - Published in 1878 and given as a gift of remembrance on 9 April 1884 to Mari (Solum) Tovsrud from Anbjör E. Solum, a sister-in-law. I know from my family history research that my great grandmother, Mari Hansdatter-Solum, married Knud Tovsrud on 25 March 1859 in the Eggedal Parish in Buskerud County, Norway. In 1861 Knud and Mari Tovsrud immigrated to America and settled on a farm near Spring Grove, Minnesota, where other Norwegians from Buskerud County had also settled by Spring Grove, including Mari's brother, Elling H. Solum. Anbjör E. Solum was Elling's wife, hence, Mari's sister-in-law. In 1881, Knud's father, Svend Tovsrud passed away and Knud began using the family name Svendson, mostly spelled as Swenson, although the Tovsrud (or Tofsrud) name continued to be used on some records. In 1885, Knud and Mari (Solum) Tovsrud Swenson came to Traill County and settled on a farm in Section 10 in Norway Township, where Waslien and Nysveen families were neighbors. Jack Ludwig

A receipt for $80 dated 1 November 1892 and paid by Knud and Mari Svenson to the 1st National Bank of Hillsboro as an interest payment on a $800 loan taken out on 5 September 1889.
A family photo of a couple with two children taken at a photographer's studio in Minnesota. Likely to be Solum family as they do not resemble any of the people in photographs I have of Tovsrud-Swenson family. Jack
