A calling card for Ole Rognstad (left) was in the Hovet Collection donated to the Traill County Historical Society. As shown in the family tree below, Ole Rognstad was a first cousin to Mathias Halvorson, early Merchant in Buxton, ND, and Stina (Halvorson) Hovet, early resident of Hillsboro, ND, because they shared the same grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jorgen Rognstad.
Ole Rognstad was born on 7 March 1871 to parents Anders and Goro (Olson) Rognstad in Lillehammer, Norway. Ole came to America in 1883 at the age of 12 with his parents, who settled on land in Section 14 in Grant Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin.
On 6 April 1910, Ole Rognstad, age 39, married Julia Isakson at her parent's home, as reported in the Dunn County News on 14 April 1910 (see below). Ole and Julia Rognstad farmed for most of their lives in Grant Township, as reported in Ole's obituaries published in the Chippewa Harold-Telegram and the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (see below). Julia passed away on 1 December 1959 and Ole died, age 92, at the home of his niece in Cooks Valley, Chippewa County, WI. Julia and Ole were interred in the Running Valley Lutheran Free Church Cemetery, located by Colfax in Chippewa County, WI.Acquisition
