In the 1888 Fall Term (24 Sep-21 Jan), Blanchard School No. 5 teacher M. A. Johnson reported attendances and studies pursued for 27 students, including Amelia Andeson, Christian Christenson, Clara Christenson, Martin Christenson, Nellie Christenson, Annie Crogstad, Betsy Crogstad, Lizzy Crogstad, Martin Crogstad, Katie Ellingrud, Matilda Ellingrud, Andrew Grondahl, Hilda Grondahl, Jennie Grondahl, John Grondahl, Ole Grondahl, Annie Holum, Carrie Holum, Olena Holum, Tena Holum, Joseph Iuamme, Christina Nelson, Cornelius Nelson, Joseph Nelson, Martin Nelson, Carrie Olson, and Louis Olson. Blanchard Township School No. 5 was located in NW Qtr. of Section 8 (see 1900 map, below), about 7 miles NW of the Village of Blanchard, and about 8 miles S of the City of Mayville.
