Description

This family history entry contains copies of original photographs of William and Wilhemina (Kuehl) Bohnsack and their children. The first photograph at left was taken in 1885 in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, when William Bohnsack married Wilhemina Kuehl on 24 March. After they married, William and Wilhemina went to Traill County and farmed their land that summer, but in that Autumn of 1885, they moved to a farm in Greenbush Township, Sheboygan County, WI. William and Wilhemina Bohnsack raised three children on their farm in Greenbush, WI, first two daughters, Alvina and Meta (photo, below). and then later a son Edwin Bohnsack (family tree, below). In his autobiography documented in 1939 by the ND Historical Data Project (page 1, below), William Bohnsack was born on 6 September 1857 on his parent's farm near Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. In 1878, William came with his father, Johan Bohnsack, and his cousin, Charlie Fleischer, to Traill County, DT, and staked homestead claims in what became Bohnsack Township (autobiography page 2, below), before returning to Wisconsin. In 1879, William Bohnsack returned to Traill County with his father, Johan, and brothers Philip and Charles Bohnsack, and Cousin Charlie Fleischer, with all their worldly belongings (autobiography page 3, below). William's mother, Maria, sister Mary Bohnsack, and younger siblings followed later when living quarters were established. Additional lands were also claimed in Bohnsack Township. In 1885, William Bohnsack returned to Sheboygan Falls and married Wilhemina (Minnie) Kuehl. After a summer in Bohnsack Township, they settled for 28 years on a farm in Greenbush Township in Sheboygan County, WI, before moving to Plymouth, WI. As shown in their family tree, Wilhemina (Kuehl) Bohnsack passed away on 1 October 1939 in Plymouth, WI, at the age of 76.
