A series of over 75 issues of "North Dakota History", a quarterly journal published by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, are available for reading at the TCHS Plummer House Museum in Hillsboro, ND. North Dakota History was previously titled the North Dakota Historical Quarterly (see Catalogit Book entry 2025.221.1).
North Dakota History journal issues available include from VoI. 12, No. 4 (Oct. 1945), to Vol. 69, Nos. 2-4 (Jun. 2002), These North Dakota History journals were donated to the TCHS by Jim Ahrlin, a former science teacher at Galesburg in Traill County, ND, now retired in Eveleth, MN (see a letter dated 10 March 2022, below). The collection also includes an issue from 2011 and two issues from 2016 previously donated to the TCHS (see below).
These quarterly journals contain scholarly articles authored by historians as well as news, notes, comments, and book reviews. The North Dakota History quarterly journal also includes special issues, such as for "North Dakota's Second Hundred Years: A Special Centennial Issue" (1989, Vol. 89, No. 1; see below).
In addition, Jim Ahrlin has provided 7 pages of hand-written notes highlighting some of the papers in issues of the journal (see below). A notation at the bottom of page 1 lists which North Dakota History journal issues are missing, either completely or in part.Acquisition
