Context

Our Savior's Lutheran Church was organized on 25 June 1917, with the Reverend O. P. Stavaas as the first pastor. Our Savior's Lutheran Church was formed from the former Synod Lutheran Church, with Rev. J. R. Rorvik its first pastor, who served until 1902. The church shown in the photograph was destroyed by fire on 13 January 1924, as reported in the 25 January Hillsboro Banner. The burnt church was replaced by a brick building, completed in 1928.
