The 1973 MayPort High School Yearbook was titled: "Spirit of '73'" and was the second yearbook (Vol. 2) published after the merger of the Mayville and Portland High Schools, which began in the Fall Term of 1971-72 school year. Residents of the Mayville and Portland School Districts voted to merge the two high schools; this was reported in the 11 February 1971 Hillsboro Banner (below).
