In 1941, from March to May, the Hillsboro High School students published a newspaper titled "The Burros' News". The newspaper staff included Delores Meyer, Editor; Corinne Waslien, Assoc. Editor; Lawrence Aasen, Sports; and Reporters Dona Mae Anderson, Dolores Beltz, LaVerne Doeden, Lorraine Engel, Mary Lou Hagen, Wilma Henka, Ardis Johnson, Roger King, Irene Koering, Margaret Mooney, Dorothy Odden, Lorraine Overmoe, and Lois Sundby .
These 1941 Hillsboro High School newspapers are available for reading at the Traill County Historical Society's Plummer House in Hillsboro. They were donated to the TCHS in 2024 by Ramon Borke on behalf of her father Merlin 'Bud' Borke.Acquisition
