Description

This Johnston family history folder contains a document on the life of Ed. R. and Jane (Nicholson) Johnston copied from page 100 in Traill County History, Vol. I, and another document on their lives related to the history of Kelso Township (see below). Ed. R. Johnston was born in 1851 in Ontario, Canada. In 1879 he came to Traill County where he was employed by Grandin Farms. In 1886 Ed. R. married Jane Nicholson of Ontario Canada, and they settled on 160-acre farm 1.5 miles south of Kelso (SE Qtr. of Sect. 8, see 1900 map).
