A three-ring binder copy of a 534-page family history book on the Pladson's and other Norwegian families of Newburgh Township, Steele County, which is located by Hatton in Traill County, ND. Notably, the log cabin built on a farm by Osten Pladson is now relocated in Hatton as part of the Traill County Historical Society Museum. This book also includes a section on the history of Hatton. This comprehensive Pladson family history book was researched and written by descendants William C. 'Bill' Teie, Andrew John Teie, and Julie (Pladson) Stroh, with editing by Judy R. Craig of Deer Valley Press, Rescue, CA.
As described on pages 131 and 132, Knudt and Barbo Pladson's son Bendick Pladson, born in 1856 in Norway, came from Worth County, Iowa, in 1877 to Newburgh Township in Dakota Territory. His parents and siblings followed by wagon train in the Spring of 1878, staking a claim and establishing a homestead with a one room log cabin in the SE Qtr. of Sect. 24.
This three-ring binder also contains a letter from Bill Teie written to Duane Nysveen (undated) about a visit to Hillsboro to see the historic Stony Point landmark located 1.5 miles west of Hillsboro. Enclosed with the letter were maps and descriptions of Stony Point.Cataloged By
