This folder contains photocopies of information about Walter John Strickland Traill (1848(?7) - 1932); death notice about his son; information on his wife Mary Elizabeth Traill (nee Purdy, first husband Gilbert) (1849-1916); information on the development of the Red River Valley. The life of Walter J. S. Traill is featured as one of the First Traill County Settlers on pages 17 & 18 in Vol. I in the Traill County History book, Yesteryears. For some unknown reason, Traill County was named after Walter J. S. Traill.
